+ How would you describe your photography style?

Bright, somewhat airy with slight contrast, colorful, JOYFUL, and makes you wish you were joining whoever is in the photo because they're having so much fun ;)

+ What is your approach to photographing families?

I believe that having those traditional posed “smiling and looking at the camera” photos are important, so of course we will capture those! But once those are out of the way, I love documenting movement, laughter, the way your son runs up to you and hugs your leg, the giggles that come out as you throw your sweet daughter up in the air and catch her, how your hubby wraps his arms around you, the sweet moments that naturally come out as you interact as a family together. I give light posing instructions just to give you an idea of what to do, and then I capture the magic that organically unfolds!

+ Where will the session take place?

I am more than happy to suggest some locations based on what your style is and what vibe you are wanting to get! Locations are very important to the session and shouldn’t be grazed over during the planning process! Photos that are taken in an open field will have a different mood and style than ones that are taken in a forest, or at the beach! A great place to start when figuring out where we will have your session is to figure out if there is a certain look that you and your family gravitate towards and is meaningful to you. Do you all love camping together, maybe a forest location is better for you! Do you have a love for blooming flowers, maybe going to a garden is best!

+ How many images will I receive?

I do not limit the amount of photos that you receive in the final gallery. In the 60 minutes of your session, you will get the best of the best of everything we capture so you have plenty of options and variety. The average amount is usually between 60-100 images.

+ How long is the turnaround time to receive my images and how do I get them?

You should expect to see your full gallery after 3-4 weeks from the shoot! They will be delivered in an online “Pinterest style” gallery that you have full access to download, save and share your images and do whatever you’d like with them! (You can also share that link with friends and family, too!)

+ Can I order photo prints from you?

YES! I highly encourage you to do so! You invested money to have your life documented, why would you let those memories sit in the cloud and not enjoy them day after day! You can order prints directly from your gallery that will get mailed right to your home! I can’t suggest it enough to use the print lab that is built into your online gallery. If you take these images to a commercial printing service, the quality will decrease tremendiously, the coloring will be off and it just won’t look it’s best. Again, you invested money to have your life documented by a professional, have a professional print your memories as well!

+ What if my child doesn’t cooperate?

I do my very best to read the children that are involved and follow their lead. If they want to run around and burn off energy, we’ll do lot’s of walking and movement shots. If they are shy and not wanting to look at the camera, we will do a lot of soft, gentle poses. If they are crying and not wanting anything to do with the shoot, I HIGHLY encourage you to have snacks and toys at the ready haha! I do not guarantee that I will be able to deliver all of my must have shots if your child is not wanting to partake, but I will deliver the best of the best of what I captured!

+ What if we have bad weather the day of the session?

I will keep my eyes peeled and watch my weather apps the day before and make the call the morning of the session if we need to reschedule. If that does happen, we will chat and find another date on the calendar that works best for both of us.

+ Can our dog come to the session?

PLEASE BRING THEM! I am a fellow pup mom myself and Zoey is SUCH a huge part of our family! They deserve to be a part of your memories being captured too! I would suggest that if you don’t want your pup to be in ALL of the photos, to have a helper come along so they can take them away on a walk while we finish up your session.

+ What time is best to schedule my session?

The way that my style is, I love shooting during soft lighting, so this means early morning when the sun is low in the sky, or 2 hours before sunset! This will give us the glowy, beautiful light that looks so dreamy!

+ How do we book a session with you?

If you know you would like me to photograph your memories for you (YAY!!) , reach out to me and we can chat about what your vision is and what you want documented! I will send over an online invoice that you can pay with any credit/debit card and a digital contract all to your email. Once I receive your payment and signed contract, we are officially official and we can begin the planning process!

+ How far out should we book a session with you?

As soon as you know you want to get photos taken. Like, yesterday! My prime weekend and week day dates get booked up MONTHS in advance and there are only so many days in the months and year ahead. Even if you aren’t sure where you want to get photos done, what in the world you would wear, or when it would be, still reach out to me and I can help you along the way!

+ Do you offer other portrait sessions besides families?

YES! I love capturing every stage of life and believe that it all deserves to be documented! Maternity, lifestyle newborns, in home sessions, graduation portraits, senior photos, 1st year cake smash, wedding showers, proposals, etc!
