I think back to when I first had the thought of creating a photography business. I was scared, and nervous, and had no idea what the heck I was doing or where to even start. But I did know one thing-- I was SO driven. When I knew that college wasn't going to be an option for me to get the education I needed that way, I did the next thing that I thought was best for me. I read so many photography books, watched countless YouTube videos, studied blogs of the photographers I looked up to and was so inspired by, and I educated myself in a way that worked for me. I am a very hands on, write it down type of person and when I see something or hear something new that I just learned, I will write that sucker down or grab my camera and go shoot. You should see the number of notebooks and journals that I have piled up just FILLED with everything I learned over these years. Did I also mention I'm a huge pretty notebook hoarder? Good thing, right? Haha! I am by no means anywhere NEAR the finish line of learning everything there is about photography. I know I have come a long way, but there is so much more that I could learn! I think that is one of the things I'm so inspired by and passionate about this creative career is that you can never stop learning and growing. There ISN'T a finish line when it comes to knowing everything there is about photography. Let me be the first one to tell you that!
When I got an email from Voyage Chicago back in March saying that they wanted to interview me to be a part of their "Chicago's Most Inspiring Stories" series, I was thrilled! WHAT?! They want ME to be included in this?! I couldn't believe it! They actually found me through one of Chicago's best florists- Vy's Floral Design and Vy was the one that gave my name to them! (Thank you SO much Vy!! You are so sweet!) Now I am able to finally share the article with you and I am so excited!! Enjoy!
