Easter 2021 is in the books and it was so strange how somewhat normal?? it felt! Last year we did not gather for many months and holidays, with this being one of them so it was nice to be surrounded by our family for a celebration again! When I knew that we were actually going to gather this year, I went straight to Pinterest and started brainstorming the mood board for our table setting and fun touches I could add! This is one of my favorite things in the world! Putting together decor pieces to make a party or get together a little extra special and memorable for myself and for those who I’m sharing the day with! Gimme a theme to anything and I’ll go alllll out for it!
I came across this pin and it immediately made my heart flutter! I love how clean and classic it looks with the white and orange with touches of greenery! I built my mood board for inspiration based off of that! I started putting lists upon lists together to see what I needed to get to make this idea come to life! For the most part, because I’m always collecting party and celebration pieces, I had a bunch of stuff already that worked perfectly with the overall vibe which helped a ton! You should see our basement (actually, maybe you shouldn’t lol!!) it is basically where I store all of my party and decoration goodies and I hope one day soon I can have everything organized so it’s like I’m shopping my own little store whenever I’m planning the next get together!
In my opinion, every celebration isn’t complete without having fresh flowers part of the decor! ESPECIALLY Easter! I usually make flowers the main focal point for spring parties because, duh. I searched far and wide for all of the orange and white tulips and flowers I could find but I always end up finding the best flowers at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods! I am always a lover of tulips but I was obsesssssed with these fluffy orange ranunculus’!
I wanted to make the centerpiece on the long dinner table be the main focal point of everything, so it needed to be different and have a “wow” factor! I added long stem carrots to a vase full of white and orange tulips and I LOVE how it turned out! It was the main carrot decor piece and I added small carrot details through out everything else, like the menu cards!!
Ohhhhkay, proud moment right here. If you have been following my socials and my blogs the past year, you know I’ve been doing a lot more baking over here! Quarantine gave me a lot of extra free time to do things I’ve never had the time to do, and because I loved it so much I make time to do it more now! This carrot cake has been saved on my phone since February! Let’s be honest, it was the photo that got my attention! I’ve never had carrot cake before but the dainty icing carrot details on it is what caught my eye and made me want to give it a try! It was QUITE the process to make, but it was so so delicious! And perfect for our carrot vibe! Also, I think my mom wins best dressed for our theme! That orange gingham top was perfect and so springy!!
Another proud moment! I’ve never made bread dough before, but when I saw these bunny rolls I knew I HAD to try it! HOW CUTE ARE THESE!!!
On the other hand, there’s nothing like a good ole’ boxed treat that’s quick and easy! Haha! This packaging on these carrot patch brownies is definitely what sold me! I am a sucker for cute packaging! I actually got these before I knew we were doing a carrot theme so they worked out perfectly!
I loved the idea of having a menu card at each persons place setting! It’s the small details that pull everything together (and make my heart happy!)! I designed these myself in Photoshop with a few festive graphics found from Google and printed them out on cream colored card stock! Here’s what we had on the menu :
Grilled Ham
Roasted Garlic Parmesan Carrots
Roasted Asparagus with Lemon Garlic
It was such a fun day spent with both our families! Memories I won’t ever forget are all of us singing “Sweet Caroline” during dinner, and my brother calling the rolls the “Yeast-er Bunny”! :D I am so happy that Spring is finally here and I’m looking forward to more warm weather gatherings in the next few weeks!
