If you are someone who loves smaller, more intimate weddings, succulents, urban and rustic venues, skyline city views, TONS of emotion and beautiful memories captured, and one heck of a beautiful couple, you are in the RIGHT place my friend! I have no idea how I could put into words that could sum up how incredible Stephanie and Dave’s summer wedding day was. It was a gorgeous day in Chicago and everyone sure hopes for clear, sunny skies on their wedding day, but when your dream portrait locations AND your ceremony/cocktail hour/cake cutting/speeches are all outdoors, you can definitely guess there were some intense prayers for these two and their big day. From what you can see in the images so far, the rain gods held off the rain until the very late evening and we got some super dreamy umbrella sparkler shots that I can’t wait for you to see!! They are some of my favorites from this day!
One thing that I just LOVE about Stephanie and Dave (and I get teary eyed just thinking about it!) is just how gentle, sweet, and loving these two are. To each other and EVERY one around them! Their friends, family, and anyone that comes in contact with them. I just wanted to hug them all day because of how NICE and genuine they are! (can we be best friends, girly? You are such a sparkley ray of sunshine!) And just knowing that this is how their personalities were, made me even MORE sappy and excited for them to finally tie the knot (and at such a dreamy ceremony location!)
From the confetti filled getting ready room, the taco and gelato trucks, the hilarious and heart felt speeches, the urban and rustic venue in the heart of Chicago, the succulent details, topped off with Dave sliding down the fire pole into the reception, this wedding day was filled to the brim with memories that I will surely never forget, and I’m sure the same goes to all of their sweet guests that attended! I hope you enjoy some (I mean, A TON!!!) of my favorite highlight images from Stephanie and Dave’s wedding day!
^^ Hands down my absolute FAVORITE bridal getting ready photo to date! Stephanie pulled me aside to show me where all of her details were that morning when I arrived and she showed me that she saved the tiny packet of mint colored confetti that I gave her in her “welcome” box and said she HAD to use it in honor of being a #MeganGogginsBride ! My heart, it bursted into a million pieces!
A dusty rose double slot MRS Box to match perfectly the velvet ribbon belt that is tied around Stephanie’s dress! The tiny details like that make my heart melt!
On our way to the first look location and I spotted this moment happening right before I hopped on! Dave had to be blindfolded on the trolley so he wouldn’t see his bride until it was go time! So sweet!
One of my favorite first look reactions!! These two are SO CUTE I can’t stand it!! They chose the bridge at the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk for their first look because this is actually where they shared their first date! And ALMOST first kiss! So it was definitely a sentimental place for them to share yet another big moment at!
I LOVE when couples have signature drinks at their cocktail hour and reception! It is such a fun way to add a personalized touch to your wedding to share your favorite drink with your friends and family!
Since their venue was actually an old firehouse, it was only fitting that Dave gets introduced into the reception by him sliding down the pole! So fun!!
These two surprised their guests with catered FOOD TRUCKS for dinner! Big Star Chicago for the meal and Gelato D'oro gelato for dessert! It was such a unique touch to their intimate reception!
These two both celebrating their birthdays growing up by having banana cream pie instead of a birthday cake, so, it was only fitting that they cut into exactly that on their wedding day! And it was definitely the prettiest pie I ever did see!
What an absolute BREATH TAKING day this was. Steph and Dave, thank you again SO MUCH for everything and having me be a part in your incredible wedding day! You both are such sweet souls and I adore you to pieces! SO thankful our paths crossed! xo!
A HUGE Shoutout to the incredible vendors who brought this day to life!
