Maranda & Jake | Snowy Dusty Blue Winter Wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana

Who says that true love stories can’t start out online? Maranda and Jake are living proof that it works! And it’s possible! And that was the beginning of their special story! From the very first day I met these two for a coffee date over a year ago, there was one thing that was certain to me. These two have hearts of gold. AND they were not afraid to be silly in front of a total stranger. (me lol) I loved that! I was so excited to get to know them more and be a part of this super special time in their lives!

We planned for their summer engagement session which turned out to be a super challenging day. It was close to 100 degrees and the humidity was through the roof! These two were total champs and didn’t let anything stop them from having fun in front of the camera! You can see their Naperville Riverwalk engagement session HERE ! Fast forward to their wedding day, and they were up against the complete opposite. It was in the 30’s with SNOW! Let me tell yah, it was coldddd. But again, they didn’t let that stop them. These two seriously need an award for being the best sports there ever was because we created MAGIC on their wedding day! Snowy, dreamy and beautiful magic! Just wait until you see what I’m talking about! The snow couldn’t of came down at a more perfect time!

Besides Maranda and Jake being the key important people on March 14th, there was a little special someone that played a big part on their wedding day. The precious flower girl, who happens to be Jake’s daughter, Tatum. What a CUTIE pie she is! Maranda had matching shoes for both of them to wear, similar style dresses and she was involved with every part of the day. Her and Jake even shared a special daddy/daughter dance at the reception that brought tears and smiles all around the room! Tatum is one special little girl to Jake and is now a huge part of Maranda’s life as well. Their portraits together are some of my absolute favorites!! She will just melt your heart!

Maranda and Jake, as forrrrr you twooooo! You guys are the best! Thank you both for absolutely everything and trusting me with one of the best days of your life! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off my 2020 wedding season than to spend it with you two and all of your sweet friends and family! I had SO much fun and your reception was one HECK of a party!! I definitely left that night with a giant smile plastered to my face! Haha! It is couples like you that make me grateful every single day that I call this my job. Capturing love stories would not be the same without the incredible people that I get the honor of working with. Shout out to Maranda who designed and created her entire wedding invitation suite! How gorgeous are these invites?! I was SO impressed when she told me that! She ALSO created hers and her bridesmaids bouquets! Just wait until you see them! She is a crafty QUEEN!!

All of her bridesmaids and her parents wrote hand written notes for her to read on her wedding day and my heart just melted when her maid of honor Julie told me about it and wanted to surprise her before she got into her dress. She has such amazing people in her life that love her like crazy! I loved this idea!

Ohhhhkay, “BRIDE” balloons, dusty blue robes AND confetti ?! The BEST combination for the morning of your wedding day! Brides out there reading this, take notes!! It was so much fun!

Maranda, you were such a joyful and GORGEOUS bride! You were just GLOWING all day long!! Your smile and laugh were so contagious!

Time for wedding party portraits and mother nature was giving us her own version of confetti to celebrate their wedding day, AND my first wedding of 2020!! The snow couldn’t have came at a more perfect time! I love all of these!! Doesn’t it look like confetti in every photo?!

They are MARRIED!!! The chapel at Aberdeen Manor has a bell that the couple can ring after they get married and I loved that moment they shared to finally celebrate being Mr. & Mrs.!

Have you ever seen a wedding cake hanging from the ceiling?! How FUN is that?!

To go along with the confetti and snow theme through out the day, Maranda and Jake shared their first dance as husband and wife and surprised their guests BIG time. Snow began to fall from the ceiling!! It was MAGICAL!
