This year has been filled with seeing some of my 2021 couples to photograph their engagement sessions and I have been to a few “new to me” locations which has been so fun to get my creative juices flowing again! Alyssa and Krystian decided they wanted to have their shoot at the Museum Campus in Chicago, which is a place that has been on my photography bucket list for EVER. Once you see these images you’ll know exactly why! It is STUNNING! The white pillars of the Field Museum, the marble stairs and just a short walk away is the lakefront which has a full view of the Chicago skyline! There are SO many great spots here which made this session a new favorite of mine, and also why this blog post is HUGE!
Thanks to COVID, this was our 3rd attempt at doing their engagement session and we almost had to reschedule AGAIN due to the weather! There were storms popping up everywhere and we were nervous of getting stuck in the middle of one! We took a chance, I grabbed my clear umbrellas and we just went for it and I’m SO glad we did! With everything going on with the pandemic AND the storms all day, actually somewhat helped us in a way because there was NO ONE around! We had the entire area all to ourselves and on a normal summer day, we would of had to dodge crowds left and right, no doubt! It did end up sprinkling on us a few times through out the session, but we were prepared and it blew past in a matter of minutes. Thank goodness. We even got one of my all time favorite images using the umbrellas!
I had such a fun time with these two and finally getting to meet Krystian! Fun fact, I went to high school with Alyssa so it is such an honor to be her wedding photographer now and be a part of this journey with her and her hubby to be! :) I can’t wait for the big day next year and to get these two in front of my camera again because it was just WAY too fun! They are natural pros! I hope you enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites from their engagement session! :)
