I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again… it feels SO GOOD to be back behind my camera photographing my lovely couples! I’ve missed them SOOO much! It also feels amazing to be back at one of my favorite engagement session locations- the Naperville Riverwalk!! I’ve done sessions here in every single season and as I was walking around before we started Erika and Robert’s shoot, I determined that I think I love Naperville in the summer the most! Everything is in full bloom, the trees are a luscious green, and there are so many colorful spots!! When we were planning for their engagement session, there wasn’t anywhere else they wanted to go other than the very place where they got engaged! Robert proposed on a bridge that goes over the river on New Years Eve last year and it would make the shoot even more special having it be where their engagement journey started! So of course, I said HECK YES! How cute is that!!
The very first time I met Erika and Robert was back in March the same week that the entire world got flipped on it’s head due to COVID-19. We met at a Starbucks and talked for a few hours just getting to know each other, and chatting all about their wedding details! We had talked about it that we knew it was going around, but we had no idea what was ahead of us at the end of that week. I’m so thankful we had that meeting before quarantine started because it made me so excited to see them again and actually get them in front of my camera!!
These two have been together for over 11 YEAR (!!!) so to think that they are excited to finally get married and become Mr. & Mrs. would be an understatement!! I am SO honored and excited to join you both during this exciting year of being engaged and I CAN NOT WAIT to get you in front of my camera again in February on your WEDDING DAY!!! Oh my gosh! The countdown is ON! I had WAY too many favorites from your shoot which made putting this blog post together very difficult! I hope you love these just as much as I do, you cuties! Enjoy!! :)
^^ right as I prompted them to do a walking shot next, and instead of holding hands in between them, I wanted Robert to put his arm around Erika’s shoulder and she would then hold on to that hand, and Robert says- “Oh yeah! Just like we would in high school!” and my heart just melted into a puddle. I couldn’t get enough of these two! <3
