Something that always inspires me and gets my creative juices FLOWING is when I’m able to photograph a session at a “new to me” location. When Jessica and I were going over different options for where her maternity photos would take place, she had a request for a forest look. With this being my favorite type of “background”, I have a handful of foresty places that I love and go to frequently! For a while I’ve had Herrick Lake on my “bucket list” to do a session at after I visited it for a Mother’s Day party that Brian and I threw for our mommas and I fell in LOVE with it! Pine trees next to the water, walking trails, a fishing dock with a gorgeous forest view out in the distance, I loved it all and was dreaming up when I would be able to get photograph it for one of my clients!
When I say that this is one of my all time favorite maternity sessions, I am not kidding! First of all, how incredible does Jessica look in that dusty blue dress! This color against all of the shades of green in the trees— ugh LOVE!! These two were up for all the exploring and we even made it out to the fishing dock to end the session just before sunset! It was such a dream! They even brought along their pup, Mango and I was all for it! I strongly believe that our doggos are just as much a part of our families as everyone else and I’m so happy that she got to be a part of this session!
I’m SO excited to finally share Jessica and Oscar’s maternity session on the blog! I had an absolute blast with them and these are some of my all time favorite images!! The location, the colors, the JOY! Ugh, I love it all!
