If I had to choose one place that ALL of my sessions for the rest of my photography career would be held at, this would be the place. My GOSH it’s so dreamy! I’ve actually been here quite a few times, once for an engagement session and also for a family session , and I just CAN’T GET ENOUGH! I just love how this place looks nothing like most locations that I go to and you would never guess that this is a short drive out from Chicago!! It definitely gives me Colorado vibes, which I LOVE! Especially being a Midwestern girl who CRAVES views like these.

This session took place in mid JANUARY! It was C O L D but Tori & Alex weren’t phased one bit! Her due date is in mid March so she was hoping to have a dreamy maternity session with snow on the ground! We just missed a few big snow storms but I was SO excited to have a little dusting on the ground still (and we even captured some of my FAVS that include the snow! I was so grateful that we were able to give Tori her snow pictures! Just wait till you see them!)

The moment that I met these two in the parking lot before we began, I instantly felt like I was meeting up with friends that I’ve known for a while! We clicked right away! On our walk to the pine trees we were chatting away and I just knew that this was going to be fun! They are such a down to earth couple who was up for anything (can you tell? we were shooting in JANUARY with temps in the 20’s!!! they could take on anything!) Any pose that I put them in, they would just naturally flow into it and add their own flare! I could have photographed them here for HOURS if they’d let me but again, it was 20 degrees! Haha!

One part of the session that I just loved was photographing a pair of tiny shoes that will soon be Blake’s that was gifted from his grandma! Tori also had a ring that she wore with Blake’s name on it that I paired with the shoes for a fun little detail shot and I loved how it turned out!

Tori and Alex, I just ADORE you two!!!! This was hands down one of my new all time favorites and you made it so fun for me! I can’t wait to finally meet the little guy for his lifestyle newborn session and see you both become parents!!
