I first met Dan while he was a groomsman in one of his good friend’s Chris’ wedding last June (shout out to Meagan + Chris!!) and when I got an email from him less than 2 weeks after their wedding, I was SO excited and so honored to even be considered for his own big day! After emailing back and forth and talking about his vision for his spring 2019 wedding day, the very next day, he said they wanted to move forward and have ME as their photographer! YAY!! Meagan and Chris are such sweet people so any friend of theirs was guaranteed to be just as nice! And I was not wrong! I officially met Lindsey while we all met up for a venue walk through and just hearing all about their plans for the big day made me so excited! Their venue (Riverside Receptions in Geneva, IL) was absolutely GORGEOUS! It’s right on the Fox River and the view of their reception space looked out to the rushing water and had floor to ceiling windows! What a DREAM! They picked out a perfect place for their celebration! The outdoor areas were just as beautiful and I kept saying it looked like a little corner of Italy! The lantern lights, the light colored stone buildings, the cobblestone walkways, everything! What really made my heart flutter was on their wedding day when it was time for wedding party photos, putting the girls with their gorgeous gold sequin dresses next to the red trim buildings covered in ivy, the colors and everything reminded me SO MUCH of my own wedding day! (View it HERE!) I had similar gold sequin dresses for my bridesmaids, which made me love Lindsey’s style even more!
Lindsey and Dan chose a black and gold color palette to match the Iowa Hawkeyes colors with a classic, romantic and traditional vibe! There was also a fun pop of purple in the florals and in Lindsey’s nail color! With the black tuxedos, gold sequin dresses and every other detail they planned for, it all looked SO good! It’s always so special when you see everything you’ve planned for so long all come together perfectly and everyone looked like rockstars! And speaking of rockstars, just wait until you see how Dan incorporated his love for music through out the day!
I have absolutely LOVED getting to know these two during their wedding journey and I am so honored to have been the one to capture it all for them! Lindsey and Dan, you have the sweetest souls and such love for each other that is so fun to watch! I hope you enjoy some of my absolute favorites from your big day!
Check out those cufflinks! When we were gathering up all of his groom details for me to photograph, he grabbed a little box that contained his cufflinks and he was SO excited to show me them! As he opened it…. '“BAM!” he said! He is such a huge fan of Metallica so this was a really fun detail for him!
I absolutely love this shot! Lindsey’s mom was SO excited for her daughters wedding day and just beamed with joy the entire day! It was the cutest thing!!

YAAAYYY! These two #MeganGogginsGrooms together made me so happy! Here they are doing their “individuals” shot at Chris’ wedding last year and now this year at Dan’s wedding! Meagan and Chris are SUCH sweet people and I just love them to death so being able to serve one of their good friends on their own wedding day (and get to know them a lot more!! ^^ Another Iowa Hawkeyes detail! They had black and yellow pom poms draped over everyones chairs for their guests to shake around during their introductions into the reception! We also had a lot of fun with them later on in the night! Wait till you see the shot we got with these!
DAN THE ROCKSTAR!!! When they told me that Dan was going to be playing his guitar as he walked in when introduced, I was SO excited to see it and it was AMAZING! It blew everyone away! Such a unique detail of their day!
As the dessert table was being brought out, I walked over to start photographing it and THESE stopped. me. in. my. tracks. Lindsey and Dan, I will forever love you because you had macarons at your wedding! You better believe I snuck a few of these in between shots! Haha!
